||Personality||

{Clever}{Protective}{Loyal}{Mischievous}{Short-Tempered}{Sensitive}{Vengeful}{Merciless}

:bulletgreen: |Clever| :bulletgreen:
"Quick to understand, learn, and devise or apply ideas; intelligent."
Ringtail may keep to himself and not socialize well, but that doesn't mean he's dumb. His mind is sharp and he's quick to pick up on things. He learns things quickly as well, and this worked well for him being an apprentice in training. He has always been this way, and only has it sharpened when he had to out-think his bullies and push himself because he felt like he had to prove something to them and to all his other clanmates for being half-clan.

:bulletgreen: |Protective| :bulletgreen:
"Having or showing a strong wish to keep someone or something safe from harm."
For those he cares for, he's very protective over. He feels a personal responsibility, especially to his niece, to keep those close to him safe and free from heartless ridicule. He's been there, and he doesn't wish for that on anyone he cares for or is close to. Being bullied so harshly for being half-clan has left him a certain soft-spot for those like him, especially when they are ridiculed for being so.

:bulletgreen: |Loyal| :bulletgreen:
"Giving or showing firm and constant support or allegiance to a person or institution."
Even though he may not be the nicest clanmate, or even care much for his own clanmates, he's extremely loyal to his clan. For the good of the future of the clan, he meant his warrior vow. He'd put his life before his clan. He's especially loyal to those he cares for, and would put his own life on the line for them. However, if this trust and loyalty is broken, it'll be hard to gain it back. As a kit and apprentice, he had little friends to cast his loyalty onto, and thus all of it went to his clan, the only thing he knew.

:bulletyellow: |Mischievous| :bulletyellow:
"Causing or showing a fondness for causing trouble in a playful way."
He's not the one to keep strict to rules. He was often in trouble as an apprentice because of this mindset. He often hunts for himself, or dodges when patrols are assigned occasionally. He always finds a new way to get in trouble, though he's trying to become better to be a batter role model for his niece. This acting out was a way for him to unknowingly release his anger from being bullied so harshly.

:bulletyellow: |Short-Tempered| :bulletyellow:
"Quick to lose one's temper."
He gets angered and annoyed very easily. His fuse is almost little to none. So it's not so unusual for him to blow up for something small. He's also quick to snap at someone for little to no reason. This is from him holding all of his negative and angry feelings inside for so long. Now, he just lets them flow as they may, with little attempt to hold them back at all.

:bulletred: |Sensitive| :bulletred:
"Quick to detect or respond to slight changes, signals, or influences."
Along with his short temper, Ringtail takes a lot of things to heart. He's not one to poked or joked around with. This evolved from the immense and harsh picking and making fun of that happened to him when he was younger. His bullies and clanmates tormented him for so long, the wound is still very much raw.

:bulletred: |Vengeful| :bulletred:
"Seeking to harm someone in return for a perceived injury."
He likes to take small tolls of revenge on those who have wronged him; it makes him feel better. Ringtail believes that everyone should pay for the wrongs that they have done to him; Karma, if you will. He's realized that his bullies and those who have ridiculed need to learn from their wrongs that they have done on him. He needs to get them back, to teach them a lesson that they won't soon forget.

:bulletred: |Merciless| :bulletred:
"Showing no mercy or pity."
He gives no mercy to anyone he might be physically or psychologically hurting. He gets this from the merciless apprentices that teased him when he was younger, and even still now. Sometimes when he hunts, he hunts to kill and not so much for food. He won't leave it to waste, but the best part for him is the mindset of taking the creature's life. He likes to savor the hunt. He does this as almost a traversal of his bullyings onto his prey.

||Biography||

|Kit|
    Ringtail was born to Snow, a loner, along with his brother Ashkit. His father was a Shadeclan warrior so he was brought into the clans. He was very excited as a kit to be a warrior and loved his parents very much. That all changed when the other kits and apprentices started to poke fun at him. They said hateful things like he was different and not a clan cat. He was in the clan, right? So why wasn't he clan? His mother, who was staying in the Nursery for now, told him to ignore it. He couldn't, not when they did mean things. Things like refuse to play with him, eat with him, or even talk to him because he was considered to be different. Some older kits and apprentices even went to the lengths to hurt him physically. They'd push him down and play hard with him on purpose. He looked forward to his apprentice ceremony. Maybe then, he thought, they won't pick on me anymore.

|Apprentice|
    Sadly, when his apprentice ceremony came along, the apprentices, and now younger warriors, were even worse and rougher with him. His mother left the Nursery to become a loner again, and that's when he had some 'self-realization.' He realized it was his parents' fault that he was being made fun of. He began to hate them and pretty much altogether cut his ties with them. He tries to avoid his mother when she visits and rarely talks to his father. His hatred grew for the apprentices and young warriors as the teasing continued. He turned to prey to take his anger out on, and then learned sneaky ways of getting his revenge on the apprentices and warriors without getting in trouble. When his mother decided to become a warrior and join Rippleclan, his hate for her deepened. It was no better when she was a loner, except maybe worse. Now everyone would know who she was, that she was his mother. More picking would come upon him, and not just from his clanmates, from other clans too. Other than a steaming hatred burning inside him, somewhere deep inside he felt a hurtful pang. Why would his mother join any other clan besides his own, in Shadeclan? He shook his head of any emotional thoughts besides that of anger and continued to mope and grumbled instead. His days now consisted of avoiding contact with any of his clanmates as much as possible. Aside from training, sleeping, and eating, Ringpaw stayed far away from camp. Usually this consisted of long walks through  territory. On one of his walks, he encountered a stray she-cat, named Moth, who was a loner who roamed into the territory. The tom took a liking to her and invited her to join Shadeclan with him. Throughout the days, he protected, now Mothpaw, from his clanmates nasty looks and comments. Together, they'd take walks and spend a lot of time together, becoming closer and closer. She eventually became his entire world, and they began to speak of becoming mates and having kits as they neared their warrior ceremonies.

|Warrior|
    Ringtail and his brother Ashstep became warriors before Mothpaw did. Ringtail was sad to leave her behind like that, so he hung around camp a bit more often in order to spend more time with Mothpaw. Soon enough, Mothpaw had her own warrior ceremony and was named Mothflight. The two left camp early every morning to avoid the patrols as much as possible and continue their day-long walks day after day. Ringtail heard the news of his mother, who now resided in Breezeclan, had had kits with a Rippleclanner. He felt sorry for the kits in having a nonclan mother in a half-clan relationship. Did she have no humility? Did she not care for their future well-being either? In a way, he felt he had more in common with these kittens he had never, and probably will never, met than most other cats, aside from Mothflight of course. Soon after, he heard more news of his mother joining Pheonixflight's band of misfits as they left to find a new home, taking her kits with her. Good riddance, was all he could think of this news. The two lovebirds became closer and considered each other as mates. Soon, he thought, there'd be kits of his own running around. 'Little Ringtails' Mothflight had said. A part of him couldn't wait. He would be the best father there could ever be. He'd defend them from any harm, and all harsh words. He'd be the parents his never were.
    One day, his brother Ashstep invited him on a hunt and he agreed. Over the travel to a hunting spot, he realized there was no reason to begrudge his brother of something his parents had done. When the two tried to cross a frozen river, Ashstep fell through and was rushed down river. In a flurry of instinct, Ringtail ran down river in an attempt to outrun the current. He leaped out onto the ice, crashing through. He thought he had missed his brother, when a soggy body bumped into him from behind. He grabbed Ashstep's scruff in his jaws fiercely, and let the two sink to the bottom, where he pushed up with all his strength and shot up and through the ice. With the last of his strength, he pulled the both of them out of the freezing cold water and onto the bank where he collapsed, releasing his grip on Ashstep. Soon, Ashstep regained consciousness and drug them both out of the cold air and into the cover of an evergreen bush nearby. The two stayed there for hours, trying to warm each other up. It was certain that they'd freeze to death if they stayed out in this cold being damp after dark when it became even colder. Soon, they began the trip back, leaning on each other for support on their fatigued muscles. Arriving at camp, The two collapsed at the entrance where Ashstep was rushed to the medicine cat's den to be taken care of because he was in worse condition that Ringtail. Ringtail refused treatment and rest until he was sure his brother was alright. When Ashstep awoke, Ringtail felt relieved and fell into a deep sleep, allowing the medicine cat to finally treat him.
    A little while later, Mothflight came to him and spoke of a tom in Cloudclan who had hurt her. He attacked her. He finally talked her into telling him the tom's name. Sandstone. Soon after was a Gathering where he spotted the tom Mothflight had spoke about. He had to take his revenge. Teach the tom a lesson. He needed to protect and defend Mothflight. When he started over towards the tom, he was intercepted by his brother and a few others. Embarrassed, Ringtail sat on the edge of the clearing for most of the remaining of the Gathering. When a fight broke out in the Gathering, Ringtail saw it as his chance and seized it. He sneaked over to Sandstone and leaped, knocking the tom over and digging his claws in. He was ripped off the tom and pinned by Sandstone's friend, Lionheart. Ringtail spotted Ashstep approaching, and awaited for his brother to back him up. Two on two would be more fair. Suddenly the heaven erupted and Starclan cats stepped into the clearing and spoke of a prophecy of possible demise. After the Starclan cats disappear and Ringtail is let up, Ashstep confronts him and start to yell at him, blaming him for the reason the Starclan cats came and gave this dreadful prophecy. Feeling utterly betrayed, Ringtail leaves his brother to sit by himself and clean his wounds. His hurt, soon becomes hatred. How could his brother backstab him like that? Just after they had gotten close! He vowed not to let anyone so easily into his heart anymore.
    About a moon later, after returning from a patrol, he noticed Mothflight wasn't around. He remembered the cats who were on her patrol and recognized them all laying in the shade of camp. Confronting one of the cats, he found out that Mothflight had left the patrol on her own. Ringtail laid and waited for her to return. He stayed up clear until the dawn patrol left the next morning. But Mothflight never returned. Ringtail searched the entirety of Shadeclan's territory, only to find the faint traces of her scent, and not enough to track her even the slightest. Where had she gone? Why would she leave him? No word or sign of why or where, just poof. Days pass and still, no Mothflight. Soon, news was brought back to camp after a Gathering, that he refused to attend in case Mothflight returned, that the clans would be leaving this land to find a new home. A sudden fear pinged in his chest of leaving Mothflight. Would she return and realize he left her? How would she feel? Would she lose interesting in him? Feelings for him? He left with his clan though, for fear of being utterly alone. He liked being alone, but not as much as that, not enough to become a loner. Otherwise he'd have been a loner a long while ago. Thoughts of Mothflight went through his mind the entire time. Even the appearance of his mother, now Featherwing, and joining Shadeclan, didn't shake him from his thoughts about her. He was so worried about her he didn't have the energy to be openly angry with his mother now. Featherwing died a few moons after coming back, but Ringtail really didn't care. His mind was focused on Mothflight still, although he now began to believe that she wasn't coming back to him. Ashstep soon found himself a mate, Sootwing, and the two had kits together, two she-kits: Aspenkit and Mintkit, and two tom-kits: Mumblekit and Webkit. Ashstep had asked Ringtail to be involved in his nieces' and nephews' lives. Even though Ringtail was still upset with Ashstep, he resolved to not take it out on his innocent nieces and nephews. Ringtail became especially close to Aspenkit.
    Ringtail was only vaguely aware of the ruckus going on about the Wicked and the Watchers. He remembered vividly, though, the battle that broke out soon after their appearance. The clans fought one another as cats took allegiances to different sides, some being the Watchers and some being the Wicked. In the beginning, he was indifferent to either side, sticking to the side-lines and only fighting those who lunged at him. He only chose a side, being the Watchers, when he saw Aspenkit being attacked by malicious shadows. He defended his niece fiercely, and almost as soon as the fight broke out, it had ended. A bright light emanated from the center of it all. When it had gone out, cats had disappeared along with the Watchers and the Wicked. Left alone in a demolished landscape, the clans tried to return to their normal ways. Each clan returned to their territories and tried to make the best of the landscape and rebuild their homes. But hunting was terrible from the battle that killed them or scared them off. Cats died of starvation, and after eight moons, it was decided that the clans would have to leave their homes and find a new one. By now, Ringtail's nieces and nephews had become apprentices, receiving their new names: Aspenpaw, Mintpaw, Webpaw, and Mumblepaw. Ringtail offered his favorite little niece a few pointers in her training every now and again, especially as they began the journey. After a tiring four moons, the clans finally reached their new home.
    The clans divided up the territory and renamed the clans after the ancient original names. Shadeclan became Shadowclan, Lightclan to Thunderclan, Rippleclan to Riverclan, Breezeclan to Windclan, and Cloudclan to Skyclan. Ringtail's nieces and nephews became warriors, and Ringtail remained close to Aspencloud. Her siblings became Mintfur, Webshade, and Mumblecall. Ringtail had almost entirely given up hope of ever seeing Mothflight again. Aspencloud took the place of Ringtail's most trusted and well-liked cat, even though he still despised her father and his brother, Ashstep. Seven moons passed and the clans settled well into their new home. Everything was finally peaceful; it was just a matter of time before something broke that peace.
    It wasn't long before the calm was disturbed: surprise surprise. Cats from all clans were going missing, but Ringtail's immediate family remained untouched, so he was really neither here nor there on the subject. He doubted many, if any, of his clanmates should care if he were to become one of the missing cats, so why should he return the favor? It turned out though, a band of rogues all pissy about the clans moving in suddenly on their 'territory' which wasn't too pleasing by them, so sneaky attacks and kidnappings were their answer. Needless to say, as soon as the problem was located, it wasn't long before the clans joined together, sang Kumbaya, and chased the flea-bitten rascals off. Sure, we won't be seeing them around anytime soon...
    Things suddenly became a world's difference in betterment, turning Ringtail's cruddy life entirely on its head as the one cat he forever and always cared for somehow returned to him. Mothflight had found him. He didn't know what to say. He didn't know if he should believe his eyes. Or his nose. Her beautiful, sweet scent washed over him for the first time in what seemed like an eternity. Ringtail couldn't be mad anymore. Not at Starclan nor anyone else. His love had returned to him. Even after he had finally come to accept that he'd never see her again. That he had lost his brightest light before he had truly felt her warmth. But this reunion wasn't of the normal: it could get better. He had a daughter! Mothflight had given birth to, dare he say, his spitting image, except for the beautiful green eyes that reflected her gorgeous mother. Her name was Bouncetail- Mothflight had given their daughter his warrior suffix. All he ever wanted in this world was for his mate to return to him and to have kits of his own, and now he had both. He could have wept tears of absolute, pure joy. The happiest moment in his life. Nothing could go wrong anymore. Nothing could measure up to the loss and now return. Nothing...right?
    But life has a funny way, at least to Ringtail, to appease your one and only simple wish in the world, and in a cruel sense of humor, rip it away. But a few moons later, Ringtail found the most horrifying sight his crystal blue eyes had ever seen. Mothflight laid on the grass, blood welling at her throat, her eyes bulged and wide as they focused on nothing. She was gone. She was gone for real. There was no hope of her return. No faintest wish in the back of his mind. Something about death was permanent and final. He would not see Mothflight ever again. Ringtail broke down into tears and guttural sobs. Not even his niece could reach him, could pull him out or away. If anything, he pushed back- pushed away. He wanted to stay tortured, here beside his love where her last awful moments left her in pain too. Was her last thoughts of him? Did she fight her hardest, to stay with him? Oh, he hoped not. He hoped she faded quickly, that she gave in to the wave of pain and the blackness of death. It bothered him to think that she might have suffered more fighting so that she could be with him. He prayed she gave in. The last thing on his mind was Bouncetail's disappearance. Part of him hoped his daughter didn't suffer the same awful fate, but He couldn't bring himself to feel for Bouncetail and her possible demise as he was feeling for Mothflight. He didn't raise his daughter. He had only just begun to know her. It wasn't wrong of him as a father to not care as deeply, right? Was he a horrid father too? Was he as bad as his own father? It was possible that he was a terrible mate. He let Mothflight disappear once, and now die, and he could have, no, SHOULD have been there. Why wasn't he there? He didn't bother to leave his nest after her vigil. Not for food, not for water, and especially not for duties. Food and dampened moss was brought to him ever so often, but he never bothered to pay attention to whom delivered it. While he remained in his nest, he never slept- he couldn't get her bloody, broken image out of his mind and refused to allow himself to see it when he should close his eyes or sleep. His cold eyes were hollow and raw, and his eyelids felt like sandpaper. He couldn't tell how much time had passed since her vigil. One morning as cool light filtered through the den, it was just him and Aspencloud remaining in their nests. He found his blank stare had come to rest on his niece, and for the first time, he noticed her flinch at his gaze. For the first time he was conscious about himself. His fur was unkempt and dirty, but he bothered not to clean it. With a rise in his anger, Ringtail threw his muzzle up towards the sky. A broken growl erupted from him as he blamed Starclan. Such vicious creatures! Why would they allow him to have this sliver of happiness and rip it away in almost the same instant?! If this is how they rewarded their warriors, he wished to have nothing more to do with them! The sudden wave of anger brought him to terms with his fatigue from lack of sleep. He broke down into sobs. His moment of utter defeat was only broken with the small chirp from his niece across the way. An apology. But it was acquainted with something more that. She had started crying. For the first time since Mothflight's death, his mind was entirely on something else: his niece. He asked her why she was crying, and she answered him quietly with an unsure murmur that she didn't know. He knew one thing: she shouldn't be crying. He gathered himself, picked out the hard and dry bits from his nest before moving to the side and calling Aspencloud over. The two laid together in silence, not really needing words or acts of affection to prove what they meant to each other. Aspencloud was all Ringtail truly had anymore, and she was the sole reason he knew and promised himself that he'd go on. He told her that she would always be like a daughter to him, and the two finally fell into a rough and dreamless sleep. At least, Ringtail did for a while until Mothflight's bloody body awakened him. Step by step, he returned to normal sleep, only being awakened by the awful image every once in a while.
    It wasn't long after when the whole clan, including Ringtail, realized that Aspencloud and Flintstripe, a cat around her age, were growing very close. Part of him was happy that his niece was experiencing love, but he also feared for her. Feared losing their closeness as she drew close to a new mate, and fear that she may experience the same kind of loss that he had. But it wasn't long before the lanky dark tom came searching for some kind of approval on Ringtail's part for him taking on Aspencloud as his mate. Ringtail numbly accepted the tom's gentlemanliness. However, Ringtail also had to put the everliving fear into this tom. He swore to him, that if he should ever harm a hair on his niece's head, that he'd have Flintstripe's pelt. He added a scorch of his cold blue eyes to burn in his warning to the tom, all of these things came easy to Ringtail. He could mutter a sentence and unease a passing classmate. Soon after it was officially announced that the two had become mates.
    A mysterious scar appeared on Aspencloud's lip and she brushed it off when Ringtail inquired, and he believed her- she didn't have any reason to lie to him right? And soon after, his niece, his beloved niece, announced that she was bearing kits. Kits! Ringtail was overjoyed for her. Two toms, Sorrelkit and Morningkit, and two she-kits, Loonkit and Rainkit, were born to the young couple. As they grew into regular playful kits, Ringtail increasingly became disapproving of Flintstripe, his demeanor, and his choice of fatherly qualities he took on that reminded him too much of his own father, Smoketail. It turns out he wasn't the only one. His own brother had become quite disapproving of his son-in-law as well, and it became a strange turn of events when Ashstep and Ringtail began to relate to one another over their dislike of the dark tom. Tensions rose all the more as it became very well-known that Flinstripe was disapproving of whom were chosen to mentor his kits. Ringtail was tasked with mentoring Rainpaw, while Ashstep received Morningpaw for an apprentice. At a Gathering, Ashstep and Ringtail joined together to pick on Flintstripe a bit, but apparently the tom had a little sense of humor, and his discontentedness ticked off Aspencloud, and the two fathers relented.
    Tragedy struck sooner than anyone would have liked. Morningpaw was attacked by a dog while on a hunting patrol with his mentor, Ashstep. Ashstep was just out of reach, giving the dog enough time to do its damage. After being drug back to camp, and two medicine cats working diligently on him, the tom had simply lost too much blood and faded away. Ringtail wouldn't wish this grief on anyone, let alone his beloved niece. The new family drew quite close after that though, and the vigil was all too quiet as the battered family of cats gathered to share their respects to the young tom who hadn't truly lived yet. But all was not well with the family as they sat in silence. A storm churned within Flintstripe, and he lashed out with accusations and terrible words towards who he held personally responsible: Ashstep. He called him incapable and idiotic for leaving Morningpaw alone and not being there to protect him. If Ringtail wasn't so biased against the dark tom, he might relate to him in the blame-game, only Ringtail was astute for blaming himself more so- something it seemed Flintstripe was incapable of. He could see in Aspencloud's eyes that part of her held her biological father also responsible- he was always able to read her so well- though at least she had the decency to hold back her own thoughts and accusations at her own kit's vigil, something also Flintstripe couldn't resist. After Aspencloud tried to dispel the argument, Flintstripe simply pushed it and her aside to continue on his disrespectful tirade. Ringtail felt so horrible for his niece. She and her son deserved a peaceful vigil- if anything more they didn't deserve to be here at this vigil. Aspencloud shouldn't have had to feel this kind of pain ever; losing a mate was unbearable enough, but Ringtail couldn't imagine the pain of losing a kit- especially to something so horrid and brutal. But here Flintstripe had the gaul to continue on his barrage of insults- including one at Ringtail whom had remained reserved for his niece's sake this entire time. Accusations of adultery and incest came spewing out of the dark tom's crooked smiling maw as if they were horrid facts. Ringtail felt his skin crawl with disgust at his assumption and gaul. But what truly struck him was the insinuations of murder, especially that of KITS! Anger welled inside him. Ringtail hadn’t known the joy of having his own kits. It had been robbed from him when Mothflight went missing and had Bouncetail on her own. He had only known his daughter for less than a moon and as a grown warrior. And Mothflight- his precious love. How dare Flintstripe throw dirt into her sweet name when he didn’t even know the pain of losing a mate, let alone loving one so entirely that knowing you had hurt them would break your heart ten times over. It was this moment when Ringtail broke the silence and asked Flintstripe at what right and gaul he had to make these accusations, and asked him that if he wanted to keep this up, he'd be happy to take him elsewhere. Everything was turned on its head though when Aspencloud broke through with a strong retaliation, and Ringtail felt a flutter of pride for her finally standing up for herself- but she didn't just stop there, she defended everyone except Flintstripe now. Ringtail felt queasy as the accusations from the dark tom still grew, and he insinuated that some of Aspencloud's kits were HIS! His churning stomach was at least partially settled that, after Aspencloud's other kits hearing these same accusations, stood up for Ringtail and spoke that they'd be more honored to have him as a father than Flintstripe. Even Sorrelpaw, Flintstripe's favorite, favored Ringtail over his own father. Within the heartbeats after each apprentice's testimonials to their wished father, Flintstripe snapped and lunged at Rainpaw, Ringtail's Apprentice. The two tussled momentarily, and no one reacted assumingly out of fear. Rainpaw managed to free herself from her father and gather her siblings around in a defensive manner. Ringtail would have felt immense pride if it wasn't for the rising anger within him, especially after Rainpaw's accusation at how Aspencloud received her scars: from Flintstripe. That was it, his tipping point. Ringtail lunged at the dark tom as soon as Rainpaw had freed herself from his claws. Pinning the dark tom to the ground, he asked if the accusation was true, and the slimy creature didn't even answer, let alone speak to him directly. It was a collective until between Sootwing and Aspencloud that had confirmed that the claw marks on his niece's lips belonged to her mate. The confirmation and Flintstripe's sudden upwards movement took Ringtail off-guard and sent him reeling. Flintstripe then lunged for Aspencloud, only for his claws to meet Rainpaw's face. Blood welled and seeped where the tom's claws had raked down the side of her face. He was shaken off by a headbutt from Loonpaw quickly followed by a retaliation from Aspencloud as she tried to keep him away from the rest of her kits. Ringtail collected himself and dug his claws into Flintstripe's haunches, dragging him away from his kits, trying his damnedest to keep them safe. Greybird came at some point in the fray to treat Rainpaw while Flintstripe twisted, swiped at Ringtail's nose, and lunged for Sorrelpaw now. Sootwing was quicker on her paws this time than Ringtail was and defended her now only grandson from the dark tom's onslaught. She fought bravely, and Ringtail was surprised. Soon, their clanmates began to emerge and swallow up  the family in their wake. Ringtail remembered little of the rest of that night after the craziness, but Flintstripe was soon banished and never seen from again. For the better, he told himself, for everyone's betterment.
    Rainpaw healed, but had lost an eye in the process. An awful scar now cut through the fur across her face, but she was still as feisty as ever. It wasn't long before she became a warrior with the suiting name of Rainclaw. Her siblings soon joined her with their new names of Loonstrike and Sorrelblaze. Their father should have been more than proud. Times went on and soon tensions began to rise between Windclan and Shadowclan as Windclan accused them of hunting on their territory. Ringtail ignored it. There was always accusations like that floating about. At least, that's what he thought until random attacks from unknown, mud-covered cats began occurring. They attacked at night, usually striking evening border patrols. Serious injuries were caused by them, and only after a few attacks did they slip up and release a name: a Windclan name. Crookedstar took this to the next Gathering in which Reedstar got very heated with Crookedstar and Shadowclan's deputy. Sparkstar took a blow to keep the peace, and Reedstar promised reprieve in nightly deliveries of fresh-kill and herbs. Things got better for Shadowclan after that. Plenty of food, and lots of variety. Hares were rare in the dark territory of Shadowclan. But things got more tension-filled as Crookedstar and Shadowclan's deputy up and left them without a new leader. After many arguments and discussions, it was decided by the medicine cats and accepted by Starclan that Aspencloud would become the new leader. Though many of their clanmates were skeptical or straight up disapproving, Ringtail couldn't be happier for his niece. She could get through anything, and she'd be the best leader Shadowclan had ever seen!
    The next Gathering, Aspenstar leads Shadowclan for the first time, but Reedstar is still disgruntled. Aspenstar wishes to continue the reparations while Reedstar says it had been enough. Tensions rise once more and Reedstar declares war. The battle finally comes and both sides fight furiously, at least until all fall still as Reedstar loses a life to a misaimed blow from Brass. Neither clans are really a winner here, but at least now they don't have to worry consistently about war or prey shortages. Shadowclan takes to ignoring Windclan for the most part, and they seem to return the favor. All seems to have fallen back to some sense of normal now.

Roleplay Example:
    Ringtail laid in the cool shade underneath an evergreen bush on the edge of camp. He felt the sharp needles scrape his thick fur with a cool touch that was more soothing to him than painful. The needles kept him alert. His icy blue eyes were illuminated in the shade as his gaze swept the busy camp in front of him. Evening patrols were going out, and he was doing his best to avoid them. He just wanted to watch the sunset and the moon rise before he went out on his own hunting patrol. He liked the cool nights of New-leaf, and the rush of hunting in the dark, all by himself. It just felt...natural to him.
